Artisan Group: Viet House Bamboo Furnitures

Trân Qunh Giao and her husband started Viet House Bamboo Furnitures in 1998 in an effort to provide employment for disadvantaged people in rural area of the Trang Bang district of Vietnam. Viet House Bamboo Furnitures employs 100 to 120 artisans. Artisans receive medical insurance, advance payments and vacation benefits in addition to a fair wage for their work.

Here's One Story

Mrs. Giao, the owner of Viet House Bamboo Furniture, doubled the size of her business from 2002-2003 with the support of the local Vietnamese government. This expansion has enabled Mrs. Giao to attract more commercial customers in order to provide employment for her neighbors and community members.
